Experience and Track Record

First Air Cooled Heat Exchanger for the Natural Gas application supplied in the year 1991 for Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) for Vaghodia Project. This was for a high pressure CNG compressor. Subsequently GEI supplied more than 40 nos. of composite multi stage gas and water coolers for engines driven compressor package for CNG filling station in the city of Mumbai and New Delhi. GEI exported 28 units of high pressure natural gas coolers for Weather ford, Spain through Gas Services International, Dubai with PED certification and CE marking.
Total number of bundles supplied Air Cooled Process Gas Cooling is more than 400.
Handled up to a design pressure of 352 bar (g).
Supplied more than 120 numbers of high pressure gas coolers with design pressure more than 100 bar (g).

Application
The units also called ‘ composite coolers’ include multi stage inter coolers, after coolers, lube oil coolers and cooling water coolers combined in a single fan bay.
Engine driven composite units are offered with multi fans mounted on a single shaft assembly with fans mounted vertically.
Motor driven units are generally designed as per the API 661 standard with horizontal fans.

Metallurgy
Most of the gas coolers have H2S or CO2 as the corrosive compounds when present in appreciable fractions in the gas composition. To avoid attack of wet H2S or CO2 in presence of the condensed water vapour, Stainless Steel or even Duplex / Super Duplex Stainless Steel metallurgy is considered for the wetted parts.
The metallurgy of the wetted surface like tubes, headers and pipes is determined by the process licensors or compressor manufacturer or end users.
Accessories

Tube Inserts :
GEI use own internal wire type tube inserts for application in Air Cooled Heat Exchangers for viscous fluids.
Twisted tape inserts are provided wherever pressure drop is a limiting factor and fouling characteristic of the fluids is high.
These tubes inserts are developed by GEI in house and have been supplied for various application for oil and gas services since 1990.

Aluminium Louvers :
GEI offers own range of manual and auto variable louvers developed in the year 1995 for Air Cooled Heat Exchangers used for winterization application. GEI make louvers are approved by Engineers India Limited. New Delhi, thereby becoming one among the only three companies approved by EIL for supplying louvers for Air Cooled Heat Exchangers for oil and gas projects handled by EIL.
Material of the blades is aluminium. Frame work is of Aluminium in case of forced draft units and made out of galvanized steel in case of induced draft units. Construction of the louvers are as per API 661 standard.
