| Experience and Track Record |
| GEI entered into the business of supplying Air Cooled Exchanger for the Petroleum Refinery Services in the year 1993 through enlistment with Engineers India Limited, EIL, India’s leading engineering consultants for the Oil and Gas Projects. Since then GEI has supplied Air Cooled Heat Exchangers for critical sweet and sour services in the petroleum refinery, petrochemical plants and other hydrocarbon process plants. |
| |
| Application |
Crude Oil Refineries, Petrochemical and Chemical Plants. |
| Finned Tubes |
| |
Extruded bi-metallic fins for design temperatures upto 280ºC. |
G type grooved and embedded fins for design temperatures upto 400 ºC. |
Other type of fins can be offered based on mutual agreements and/or with compliance to API 661 standard. |
| |
| Headers |
| |
Plug type headers for design pressure upto 300 bar. |
Removable cover plate header upto a design pressure of 30
bar or fluids with higher fouling characteristics. |
Manifold pipe header for design pressures higher than 200 bar. |
| |
| Materials of Construction |
| |
Carbon Steel with or without NACE requirement and / or HIC testing. |
Chromium Molybdenum Alloy Steel. |
Stainless Steel Alloys. |
Duplex Stainless Steel Alloys. |
Incoloy. |
Welding procedures are already established for Inconel and Titanium materials and hence capability exists for these metallurgy too. |

| Accessories |
| |
| Tube Inserts : |
GEI use own internal wire type tube inserts for application in Air Cooled Heat Exchangers for viscous fluids. |
Twisted tape inserts are provided wherever pressure drop is a limiting factor and fouling characteristic of the fluids is high. |
These tubes inserts are developed by GEI in house and have been supplied for various application for oil and gas services since 1990. |
| Aluminium Louvers : |
GEI offers own range of manual and auto variable louvers developed in the year 1995 for Air Cooled Heat Exchangers used for winterization application. GEI make louvers are approved by Engineers India Limited. New Delhi, thereby becoming one among the only three companies approved by EIL for supplying louvers for Air Cooled Heat Exchangers for oil and gas projects handled by EIL. |
Material of the blades is aluminium. Frame work is of Aluminium in case of forced draft units and made out of galvanized steel in case of induced draft units. Construction of the louvers are as per API 661 standard. |
| |
| Operation |
| |
Fine control of process outlet temperature is achieved by the individual
or combination of the following methods of control. |
Auto control of fan blade angle. |
Auto control of louver blade angle. |
Auto control variable speed drive system for fan speed control. |
Combination of the one or all of the above options wherever complete winterization is required with internal or external air recirculation arrangement along with steam coil with options as per system A to D of API 661. |
